Phu Quoc, Vietnam - private day trips
Phu Quoc by forest stream, by sea and by road
Ten day trips on Phu Quoc island, each one private: only you and the people you travel with, and a guide of your own. Five of them go into the forest and along its streams, three go out to sea, and two take the road to the north and south of the island.
Three ways to spend a day here
Most visitors to Phu Quoc see the beaches and the west-coast sunsets and leave without going into the forest that covers much of the island. We start there. The forest days are the core of what we do, and the sea and road days are there for the other days of your stay.
Forest and streams - 5 days
From a slow 2-3 km herbal walk at Da Ban stream to a 7-10 km trek over the ridge above Ham Ninh. Activity levels 2 to 4 of 5, reference prices from USD 74 to USD 149, plus an evening walk quoted on request. The forest days.
Sea and islands - 3 days
A private canoe to three islands of the An Thoi archipelago, the sea cable car to Hon Thom, and a beach camp with a BBQ dinner and the sunset. All activity level 1. The sea days.
Island days by road - 2 days
North: a kayak on the Cua Can river and Starfish beach. South: Phu Quoc Prison, Ho Quoc Pagoda and Sao Beach. Easy days with a guide and a car. The road days.

Why every trip is private
There are no join-in groups on this site. When you book a day, the car, the guide and, on sea days, the canoe are for your group alone. That is a practical decision more than a luxury one. A forest day goes at the pace of the slowest walker, and with strangers in the group somebody is always either waiting or being hurried.
Private also means the day can bend. A guide who only has your group can stop longer at a stream pool, turn back early on a ridge if knees complain, or shorten a route when the rocks are wet. Trek & Heal, the hardest day here, has a 4-5 km version for groups who want less than the full 7-10 km. Healing Forest has a 7.5-hour version that skips the pepper or bee farm and gets you back around 15:00.
Groups run from two people up to ten or twelve, depending on the tour. On Trek & Heal there is one trek guide for every five guests.
How the price works
Each tour shows a reference price: "from USD X per person". The real price is quoted for each request, once we know how many of you there are, the date and the area of your hotel. Group size moves it most. A guide, a car or a canoe costs the same whether two people use it or eight, so larger groups pay less per person.
Hotel pick-up is included in Duong Dong, Ong Lang and Bai Truong (Long Beach). Hotels in the south around An Thoi and in the far north carry a supplement, quoted with the price. Payment is 100% at confirmation, by card link or bank transfer. There is no deposit stage, and nothing is charged before your date is confirmed.
The pricing page lists all ten reference prices and explains what changes a quote.

What the forest days ask of you
Every tour carries an activity level from 1 to 5, and the same scale is used across the site:
- 1 - anyone can do it.
- 2 - light walking, under 3 km.
- 3 - 3 to 6 km with some climbing.
- 4 - 7 to 10 km with climbs; needs fitness.
- 5 - hard mountain or multi-day trekking. We sell none of these; every trip here is a day trip.
The forest days sit between 2 and 4. On all of them you stay on the path and the guide walks in front, because snakes live in this forest as in any tropical forest. Nobody enters a stream in heavy rain, since water levels can rise fast. If you are unsure which level you are, choosing a trek goes through it by fitness, distance and age, and what to pack covers shoes, socks and the rest.
Seasons in one paragraph
The dry season runs roughly from November or December to April or May. Trails are firm and streams lower, and it is the steadier time for the longer treks. The rainy season runs roughly from June to October or November. Streams are at their fullest and prettiest, but rocks are slippery, leeches are possible, and guides may shorten or cancel a route in heavy rain. Sea trips on the west and south coasts are cancelled when the sea is unsafe; you get a full refund or another day.
When to go sets out which tour suits which months. If you have two to four days on the island, combining day trips suggests which days sit well together.
How booking works
- 01
Send a request
The tour, your date, how many of you and where you are staying.
- 02
We check and quote
We check the guide, and the boat on sea days, then send the price for your group and the details of the day.
- 03
Confirm and pay
You confirm and pay 100%, by card link or bank transfer.
- 04
We pick you up
At your hotel, at the time in your confirmation.
Cancelling more than 48 hours before the start gets a full refund, less any card fee. Between 48 and 24 hours it is 50%, and under 24 hours or a no-show, nothing. If we cancel for weather or safety, you choose a full refund or another day. How to book covers each step, and the booking terms have the full wording.
Who we are not right for
- Travellers looking for the cheapest seat on a shared bus. Every trip is private, and a private day for two costs more per person than a join-in tour.
- Anyone wanting an overnight trek or a camp night. We sell day trips only. The sunset beach camp ends with you back at your hotel by about 21:00.
- Groups larger than ten or twelve. That is the ceiling on every tour; a larger party would need two separate groups.
- People who want a promise of wildlife. The night walk finds frogs, insects, spiders and geckos; mammals are rarely seen and we do not pretend otherwise.
- Plant collectors. On the herbal walk the rule is look and learn: no picking, digging or breaking.
More about who we are and how the guides work is on the about page, and our guides post from the trail on our Facebook page.
