Phu Quoc Discovery
Are your tours private or shared?
Private, every one of them. The group is only you and the people you travel with, with your own guide. There are no join-in departures.
How much does a day trip cost?
Each tour has a reference price per person, from USD 41 for the south island heritage day to USD 149 for Trek & Heal for a private group of two. The night forest walk is quoted on request.
Your actual price is quoted for your request and depends mainly on group size.
Is hotel pick-up included?
Yes, in Duong Dong, Ong Lang and Bai Truong (Long Beach). Hotels in the south around An Thoi and in the far north carry a supplement, quoted with the price.
What happens if it rains?
Forest routes may be shortened or cancelled in heavy rain, and nobody enters a stream in heavy rain. Sea trips are cancelled when the sea is unsafe.
When we cancel for weather or safety you get a full refund or another day.

All tours
Can we book two or three tours for the same trip?
Yes. Send one request listing the tours and dates, and we quote and confirm them together before you pay anything.
Avoid two long days back to back if one of them is Trek & Heal or Tien Son.
Which tour is the easiest?
The sea days and the south island heritage day are activity level 1. In the forest, Suoi May and Healing Forest are level 2, with short walks at an easy pace.
Do you run tours for one person?
Groups start at two. A single traveller can ask, and we will tell you honestly what is possible and what it would cost.
Do tours run every day?
Tours run on request rather than on a fixed calendar. Send your date and we check the guide, and the boat on sea days, before quoting.
Read in full: All tours.
Pricing
Why is there no fixed price for each group size?
Because the cost of a private day depends on the actual group, date and hotel area, we quote each request rather than publish a table that would be wrong for most groups.
Ask for two group sizes in one request if your numbers may change.
Why are you more expensive than some tours I have seen?
Every trip here is private, with your own guide, car and, on sea days, boat. Shared tours divide those costs among many more people.
Compare what is included line by line: tickets, lunch, insurance and the guide ratio make a large difference.
Do children pay less?
There is no published child rate. Children are part of the group and the quote shows what each person pays. Tell us their ages, since some tours have minimum ages.
Is anything charged before my date is confirmed?
No. You pay 100% once the date is confirmed, by card link or bank transfer. There is no deposit.
Read in full: Pricing.
How to book
Is my booking confirmed when I send the request?
No. A request starts the process. The booking is confirmed once you accept the quote, pay and receive our confirmation with the pick-up details.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as you know your dates. Each day needs a guide, and on sea days a boat, checked for that date, so earlier requests have more choice.
Can we change the date after paying?
Ask as early as you can. We check availability for the new date; cancellation terms depend on how much notice you give.
What if the weather is bad on our day?
If we cancel for weather or safety you choose a full refund or another day. Forest routes may also be shortened by the guide in heavy rain.
Read in full: How to book.
Forest treks
Which forest day is the easiest?
Suoi May: a short, easy walk to the stream, then swimming and a BBQ lunch. Healing Forest is also level 2, with 2-3 km at a slow pace.
Will we see wildlife?
Birds, insects and plants, yes. On the night walk, frogs, spiders and geckos are likely. Mammals are rarely seen and we make no promises.
Are there leeches?
They are possible in the rainy season. Long socks and closed shoes help.
Can the long trek be made shorter?
Yes. Trek & Heal has a 4-5 km version at a lower price, and in heavy rain the guide may shorten any route.
Read in full: Forest treks.
Sea and islands
What happens if the sea is too rough?
The trip is cancelled and you choose a full refund or another day. On the canoe days, which islands you visit is decided on the day by sea conditions.
Is the Hon Thom water park included?
No. The cable car return ticket is included, but the water park is a separate ticket that we do not sell.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer to snorkel?
No, but you should be comfortable in the water. On the canoe day, life jackets and masks are provided.
Is the sunset camp overnight?
No. It runs from about 15:00 to 21:00 and you are back at your hotel by about 21:00.
Read in full: Sea and islands.
Island days
Do I need kayaking experience for the north day?
No. The Cua Can river is calm water, life jackets are provided and you paddle at your own pace.
Is the prison museum suitable for children?
Some reconstructions are graphic. Parents should decide in advance, and tell us the children's ages so the guide can plan the visit.
What should I wear for the south day?
Something light that covers shoulders and knees for Ho Quoc Pagoda, and swimwear for Sao Beach.
Can we do both days?
Yes, on different days. Send one request with both dates and we quote them together.
Read in full: Island days.
Healing Forest: Da Ban
How much walking is there on the Healing Forest day?
About 15 minutes from the car park to the stream, then 2-3 km on forest floor and stream rocks over roughly two and a half hours, with many stops. The farm visits add only short, flat walks.
The site-wide activity scale puts it at 2 of 5.
Can children do the herbal walk and the foot soak?
Children from six are welcome on the walk and at the farms. The bee farm and the sachet workshop are both hands-on.
Tell us their ages when you book. The practitioner decides on the foot soak for anyone with a reason to check first, children included.
Is the herbal content medical advice?
No. The guide and the practitioner explain how plants are used according to folk remedies and traditional practice. It is cultural knowledge.
Nothing on this day is offered to diagnose, prevent or relieve any condition. If you take medication or have a health concern, ask your own doctor, not us.
How is the price worked out for my group?
The reference price is from USD 139 per person for a private group of two. Larger groups pay less per person because the vehicle and guides are shared by more people.
Send your group size, date and hotel area and we reply with one total price. You pay in full only when the date is confirmed.
Read in full: Healing Forest: Da Ban.
Trek & Heal: Suoi Tien
Exactly how long is the Trek & Heal route?
The planned route is about 7-10 km: 3-4 km along Suoi Tien, about 3 km of climbing to the ridge, and 1-3 km of descent.
The route is being logged by GPS, and the exact distance and climb for your departure are written into your quote before you pay.
Is there a shorter version?
Yes. A 4-5 km route keeps the stream and the foot soak and leaves out most of the climbing. It costs less and is quoted on request.
The minimum age of 12 still applies.
Will we swim?
There is a swim stop on the stream stage when there is enough water, which is more likely in the rainy season. In the driest months it may be a paddle rather than a swim.
No one enters the stream in heavy rain.
What happens if it rains on the day?
Light rain does not stop the trek, but the guide may shorten the route if the rocks or the stream become unsafe.
If the whole day is unsafe, we cancel and offer a full refund or another date.
Read in full: Trek & Heal: Suoi Tien.
Tien Son peak and Bat Cave trek
How high is Tien Son and how far do we walk?
The view from the peak is from about 280 m above sea level. The climb is about 3 km of forest trail to the Bat Cave and about 2 km more to the top, then the descent.
The full route for your date is described in your quote.
Do we have to go through the Bat Cave?
No. The group can skip the cave and continue to the peak by the trail.
In the rainy season the guide may skip it anyway if the cave is flooded. Headlamps are provided for groups that go in.
Is the Suoi Tranh ticket included?
Yes. The entrance ticket to Suoi Tranh is part of the price, as are lunch, snacks, water and headlamps.
Why is the price only shown as "from USD 101"?
Because it depends on how many people are in your private group: the vehicle and guide are shared by everyone, so larger groups pay less per person.
Send your group size, date and hotel area and we quote one total price, paid in full only when the date is confirmed.
Read in full: Tien Son peak and Bat Cave trek.
Suoi May stream day
Is there enough water to swim at Suoi May in the dry season?
From June to November there usually is. In the driest months, roughly March to May, the pools can be shallow and the day becomes more paddling than swimming.
Before you pay, we ask our guides about the water at that moment and tell you plainly in your quote, so you can change date or tour if you prefer.
Can young children come on the Suoi May stream day?
Yes. It is the forest day that suits children most. Adults must supervise their own children in the water at all times.
Tell us the children's ages when you book so the guide plans the swimming spot around the youngest.
How much walking is there?
Only a short, easy forest walk in to the stream and back out. Most of the day is spent in or beside the water. It is rated 2 of 5 on our activity scale.
What happens if it rains on the day?
Light rain does not stop the day. Heavy rain does: nobody enters the stream in heavy rain because water can rise quickly.
If the weather makes the day unsafe before it starts, we cancel and you choose a full refund or another day.
Read in full: Suoi May stream day.
Night forest walk
Why is there no price for the night forest walk?
We have not yet measured a comparable tour to set a reference price, and the route depends on which areas permit night walking on your date.
Your quote gives the named route, the times and the price for your group. Nothing is charged until you accept it.
Which forest does the night walk go into?
Night access rules for forest areas are being confirmed with our guides, so we do not name a fixed place here. We only offer routes where walking at night is permitted.
The route is named in writing in your quote. If none is available for your date, we tell you before you pay.
Can children come on the night walk?
From age 10. The walk is easy, but it asks for long spells of quiet and standing still in the dark, which younger children rarely enjoy.
Will we see snakes or large animals?
Large animals are rarely seen and we promise none. Snakes live in the forest, as in any tropical forest; the guide leads and everyone stays on the path.
The walk is about small life: frogs, insects, spiders, geckos and sleeping birds.
Read in full: Night forest walk.
Sunset beach camp
Can we stay overnight at the beach camp?
No. It is an afternoon and evening trip, roughly 15:00 to 21:00, and you are back at your hotel the same night. We sell day trips only.
Which beach is the sunset camp on?
A quiet beach on the west coast, where the sun sets over the sea. Which one depends on the season and the wind, and it is named in your quote.
If the weather makes it unsuitable, the guides may move the camp to another beach and tell you before pick-up.
What happens if it rains?
Showers are likely in the rainy season. A short shower does not end the evening; unsafe sea or weather does.
If we cancel for weather or safety, you choose a full refund or another day.
Are drinks included?
Soft drinks and water are included. Alcohol is not; beer can be arranged on request, at cost, and is added to your quote.
Read in full: Sunset beach camp.
An Thoi islands by canoe
Which islands will we visit?
Three islands of the An Thoi archipelago, chosen on the morning by the captain according to wind, swell and water clarity.
We do not fix the list in advance, because a fixed list would sometimes mean taking you to a rough or murky spot. The guide tells you the plan at the harbour.
Can I come if I cannot swim?
Yes. Wear a life jacket in the water and you can float and snorkel on the surface without effort; the crew will ask non-swimmers to keep it on.
If you do not want to wear a life jacket and cannot swim, this is not the right day for you.
Where do we eat lunch?
Either on one of the islands or on board, depending on the plan for your date. Which one is written in your quote.
Tell us about allergies or diets when you request the quote, so the lunch can be planned around them.
What happens if the sea is too rough?
If the sea is unsafe, the trip is cancelled and you choose a full refund or another day.
If it is only marginal, the guide may propose a shorter loop or two stops and you decide at the harbour, before boarding.
Read in full: An Thoi islands by canoe.
North island and Cua Can kayak
I have never kayaked. Is that a problem?
No. The water is a calm river, the guide gives a short lesson on the bank, and everyone wears a life jacket.
The pace is set to the slowest paddler in your group, and the guide decides how far to go on the day.
Can children come?
Yes, with adults. Tell us the children's ages and rough sizes when you request the quote, so the guide plans the paddle and brings the right life jackets.
Young children usually do a shorter paddle, which is easy to arrange on a private day.
Can we pick up the starfish for a photo?
No. Lifting starfish out of the water harms them, and our guides will not allow it.
You can wade in and photograph them where they are, through the water.
What if it rains?
A shower does not stop the day. Heavy rain or wind may shorten the paddle, and the guide decides on the spot.
If we cancel for weather or safety, you get a full refund or another day.
Read in full: North island and Cua Can kayak.
South island heritage day
Is the prison museum suitable for children?
Some parts use graphic reconstructions of how prisoners were treated, which are not suitable for every child.
Tell us your children's ages when you book. The guide can keep the visit short, stay in the outer areas, or move on early to the pagoda.
What should I wear?
Light clothes for the heat, plus something to cover shoulders and knees at the pagoda. A sarong or light trousers pulled on at the gate works well.
Swimwear and a towel for Sao Beach in the afternoon.
Are the entrance fees included?
Yes. Entrance fees and lunch are included in your quote.
Not included are drinks other than water, anything hired or bought on the beach, and any offering you choose to make at the pagoda.
Can we change the order or spend longer at one place?
Yes. It is a private day, so the guide can give more time to one stop and less to another.
Tell us what matters most to you when you request the quote, and the plan is written into it.
Read in full: South island heritage day.
Hon Thom cable car and islands
Is the Hon Thom water park included?
No. The water park needs a separate ticket, which we do not sell, and it is not part of this day.
The cable car return ticket, the canoe, the guide and lunch are included in your quote.
What happens if the cable car is closed by wind?
The day is reshaped or refunded. What a reshaped day would look like is agreed with you before anything goes ahead.
If it does not suit you, you get a full refund or another day.
I am nervous of heights. Is the cable car bad?
The cabin is high over open sea for a long ride, with no way off part-way. Mild nerves are usually fine; a real fear of heights is not.
If in doubt, choose the An Thoi canoe day, which stays at sea level.
How much snorkelling is there?
Less than on the An Thoi canoe day. The canoe visits one or two islands after Hon Thom, and you snorkel there if the sea allows.
If snorkelling matters most, the An Thoi canoe day has three island stops.

Choosing a trek
Which forest day is easiest?
The Healing Forest and the Suoi May stream day, both 2 of 5. The Healing Forest walks 2 - 3 km slowly; the stream day is a short walk and then swimming.
Both still involve uneven ground and some rocks.
How long is Trek & Heal exactly?
The planned route is about 7 - 10 km. It is being GPS-logged, and the exact distance and climb are written into your quote before you pay.
A shorter 4 - 5 km version is possible at a lower price.
Can children do Tien Son Peak?
From 12. Below that age, the Healing Forest from 6 and the stream day are the forest options, and the night walk from 10.
Can we switch to an easier day after booking?
Usually, if the guide for the other day is free. Ask as early as you can, and we requote the new day before anything changes.
Read in full: Choosing a trek.
When to go
What is the driest time for trekking on Phu Quoc?
Roughly December to April. Trails are firm and the long routes are easiest then.
Streams are lower, and around March to May some pools can be shallow.
Do the forest tours run in the rainy season?
Yes, but guides may shorten or cancel a route in heavy rain, and nobody enters a stream in heavy rain. If we cancel for weather, you get a full refund or another day.
Which months are calmest for sea trips?
We do not publish calm months as a promise. Our boat partner confirms the sea for each date, and if it is unsafe the trip is cancelled with a full refund or moved to another day.
Read in full: When to go.
What to pack
Do I need hiking boots for Trek & Heal?
You need your own trekking shoes with a grippy sole; they are not included. Boots or trail shoes both work, as long as they are broken in and grip wet rock.
Trekking poles are provided.
Will there be leeches?
They are possible in the rainy season, roughly June to October, and uncommon in the dry months. Long socks over trousers and repellent help, and the guide checks at stops.
Do I need to bring my own torch for the night walk?
No. Red-filtered torches are provided, because white light disturbs the animals. Bring closed shoes, long trousers and insect repellent.
Read in full: What to pack.
Combining day trips
Do you sell multi-day packages?
No. Every tour is a private day trip, booked and paid for separately. The combinations on this page are suggestions to help you plan, not packages.
Can I do Trek & Heal and Tien Son Peak on consecutive days?
We advise against it. Put at least one easier day, such as a sea or road day, between them.
What happens to the rest of my days if a sea trip is cancelled?
Nothing changes for the other tours. Only the cancelled sea trip is refunded in full or moved to another day, because each tour is booked on its own.

About us
Are your tours private?
Yes. Every departure is only you and the people you travel with, with your own guide. We do not run join-in groups.
Why do you show reference prices rather than fixed prices?
Because the price per person depends on how many of you there are. We quote each request once we know group size, date and hotel area, and larger groups pay less per person.
Why are there no reviews on the site?
Because we will not write or buy them. Real reviews, shared with permission, will appear when we have them.
Read in full: About us.
Contact
Do you have a phone line?
No. Email and the enquiry form are the way to reach us, so that everything in your quote is in writing. Once you have booked, the details of the day are in your written confirmation.
What should I include in my first message?
The tour, the date, how many of you and the ages of any children, your hotel area, and any fitness or health notes. With those we can quote in one reply.
Can I ask a question without booking?
Yes. Questions about trails, streams, seasons or what to bring are welcome, booking or not.
